Grossarltal Culinary Region

taste and savor culinary products of our region

Diving into the heart of the Grossarltal valley, visitors encounter not just breathtaking scenery but also a cornucopia of culinary treasures. Milk, yogurt, whey, smoky bacon, fresh butter, exquisite spirits, and a variety of cheeses are just a few of the standout products made right here in our valley.

In an effort to bolster regional agriculture, special emphasis is placed on marketing food items that are regionally produced and crafted using time-honored methods. Our local farmers pour significant labor into meticulous husbandry of their lands in the valley and on the alpine pastures, including traditional dairy farming. This not only contributes to the sustainable upkeep of our alpine cultural landscape, particularly life on our high pastures, but also preservation of the diversity of the countryside in general as well as biodiversity of flora and fauna throughout the Grossarltal valley.
