Hut Days

Mid-June to Mid-September 2025

Stroll at your leisure across alpine pastures, ridges, and peaks, and let yourself be treated by your hut hosts to an array of mouthwatering delicacies. Enjoy the tranquility of nature, beautiful sunsets, and cozy evenings in the romantic parlors of mountain huts.

The farmers at huts often share episodes from life in the mountains, as well as legends and stories from bygone days. The next morning, you'll be woken up by the ringing of cowbells, and a tasty mountain breakfast will energize you for the upcoming hike.

These hiking tours can, of course, be individually extended according to your desire and fitness level. That said, a leisurely outing can easily turn into a summit conquest. If the suggested tours are not possible due to, for example, huts that are fully booked, we will suggest other tours with similar walking times.

Highlights of Hut Days

Discover authentic life at a mountain hut

The Hut Days package includes 2 nights at your booked accommodation category in the valley and 2 nights at a mountain hut including breakfast. The transfer to the starting point of the tour, 1 hut snack, and 1 hiking map are included in this offer.

The Hut Tour is not guided. We recommend spending the first and last night in the valley. This way, you can acclimatize on the day of arrival and comfortably head home on the day you depart. Should unforeseen problems arise, you can drop down from any of the huts back to the valley at any time.

Hut Days are bookable from mid-June to the end of September. You will stay in multi-bed rooms or dorms at mountain huts. Your hosts will treat you to a "Brettljause" (snack platter) at the huts, warm meals are not available everywhere.

One special feature of Hut Days is that you can leave the luggage you do not need during the hiking tour at your booked accommodations in the valley. Hut Days can only be booked via the Grossarltal Tourist Office, Email: info@grossarltal.info. The Hut Days offer is bookable from mid-June to mid-September.
