Active vacation in Grossarltal including arrival

June to October 2024

In Grossarltal, with its 40 staffed mountain huts, Alpine Summer is very much alive and well. The "Valley of Mountain Huts" has rightfully earned its name, also home to the Hiking Village of Grossarl and the Mountaineering Village of Hüttschlag. Around 40 huts treat active nature lovers to an array of regional specialties along the clearly marked hiking trails and bike routes, here at the entrance to Hohe Tauern National Park.

For transfers from/to Salzburg Airport (70 km, approx. 1 hour) and the St. Johann im Pongau train station (15 km, approx. 20 min), there are inexpensive bus connections. The journey from your accommodations to the starting points of tours is easy and convenient with the help of a hiking bus. And for all other transfers in the valley by Postbus, there is a fixed-price ticket available for only €1.00 per person per ride.

The active program from BERG-GESUND, with around 180 individual events from May – October, takes you on a marvelous journey through cool forests, broad alpine pastures, and to scenic peaks. Yoga hikes, deceleration days, alpine flower hikes, high-mountain tours, climbing, paragliding, etc. Program: www.berg-gesund.at.
