Hiking pins
Hiking and collecting stamps
Grossarltal offers countless worthwhile hiking destinations, from leisurely walking paths to scenic summit tours. Whether you hike to the many mountain huts or climb the highest peaks, we believe your efforts deserve a reward. While hiking, you collect valuable points that can be used to acquire hiking pins. These pins are not just a reward for your achievements but also an incentive to explore as much of our alpine and mountain world as possible.
While hiking in Grossarltal, you'll find stamps at various destinations. Collect these stamp impressions in your stamp pass, which you can pick up for free at the Grossarltal Tourist Office. If you happen to forget your pass, simply take a photo as proof of your hike.
At the end of your vacation, you can purchase the corresponding hiking pin at the tourist office, depending on the number of points collected. Your collected points remain valid, so you can continue to build your personal collection with each vacation. Just bring the point tally from your last stay with you.
For the hiking pins, handcrafted right here in the Salzburg region, we charge a nominal fee of € 5.50 (€ 3.50 with a guest card).

IMPORTANT: If two hiking destinations are close to each other, they only count as one destination. This applies, for instance, to the following destinations: Draugsteinalmen (Schrambachhütte & Steinmannhütte), Kreealmen (Kreehütte & Bichlhütte), Gehwolfalm & Harbachhütte, Tappenkarsee & Tappenkarseealm & Tappenkarseehütte, Gamskarkogel & Bad Gasteiner Hütte. If one peak is right below the main peak, it also counts as one destination.
For young and old
children & seniors
There are no mandatory tours for children up to 6 years and seniors over 70 years. However, their points are counted the same as for everyone else.
In addition, all industrious little hikers receive fun buttons for free.
Hiking along the Salzburger Almenweg is also rewarded with a hiking pin. The hiking destinations can be chosen individually by each hiker, the only important thing is that each destination is stamped in the Salzburger Almenweg hiking brochure. If a stamp is missing or a stamping point is closed, the data can be entered in the booklet yourself and confirmed at the tourist office using a photo. The hiking pins from the Salzburger Almenweg are available from all tourist offices in Pongau for a fee of € 4.50.
The hiking pin is available in different grades:
- Gentian in bronze for 1 completed stages
- Gentian in silver for 5 completed stages
