BERG-GESUND has special opportunities in store for all snowshoers, ski-touring enthusiasts, ice climbers, outdoor fans and nature lovers. From Christmas to Easter, various winter activities are offered away from the pistes on 5 days out of the week.
These tours are led by state-certified touring guides. The program runs from 29 November 2019 to 10 April 2020.
- Guided snowshoe hikes through the winter forest and across alpine meadows. BERG-GESUND organizes sampler snowshoe hikes as well as easy-to-moderate snowshoeing expeditions. Your touring guide will explain how to read the surface of the snow and give you practical tips on avalanche safety.
- Ski-touring sampler with a state-certified ski-touring guide. Equipped with a probe, shovel and avalanche transponder, you will also learn valuable information about avalanche safety.

Guide is only speaking German! Tours are sometimes a challenge for untrained hikers. However, with the right preparation you feel comfortable, even with more exhausting hikes. Together with Andreas Viehhauser (private trainer, nutrition expert and athletics coach) you go very quickly and do some exercises to get your circulation going.
Meets 10 a.m. at the “Aktiv” assembly point. You will return at around 12 p.m. A maximum of 10 participants, tour only in German. You need hiking or winter sports clothing, hiking boots or trainers and drinks.
Guide is only speaking German! An easy snowshoe hike in Grossarl or Hüttschlag. During this snowshoe hike, your state-certified touring guide will give you insights into understanding snow and avalanche conditions. You will practice how to use avalanche transponders, shovels and a probe. A maximum of 12 participants, tour only in German.
Meets 10 a.m. at the “Aktiv” assembly point. You will return at around 2 p.m. Please bring along snowshoes, telescopic hiking poles, avalanche transponder, shovel and a probe.
Together with a state-certified ski-touring guide, you will set out on this easy ski tour. You will also learn to use an avalanche transponder, shovel and probe. The guide will explain important aspects of snow and avalanche safety.
Meets 10 a.m. at the “Aktiv” assembly point. You will return at around 2 p.m.. Comple ski-touring equipment is required incl. transponder, shovel and a probe. A maximum of 8 participants, tour only in German.
Guide is only speaking German! With certified touring guides, you will take an easy snowshoe hike in Grossarl or Hüttschlag. During this hike, after a short introduction to snow and avalanche safety, you will practice how to use avalanche search & rescue transponders.
Meets 10 a.m. at the “Aktiv” assembly point, returning at around 2 p.m. Please bring along snowshoes, telescopic hiking poles, avalanche transponder, shovels and a probe. A maximum of 12 participants, tour only in German.
You will learn how to use your ski-touring gear correctly and take an easy ski tour either in Grossarl or Hüttschlag. You will also learn correct use of avalanche transponders, shovels and probes. The state-certified touring guide will teach you the basics of understanding snow and avalanche conditions.
Meets 10 a.m. at the “Aktiv” assembly point. You will return at about 2 p.m. Ski-touring equipment incl. transponder, shovel and a probe, is required. A maximum of 8 participants, tour only in German.
Guide is only speaking German! For untrained hikers tours can really be a challenge. Still, if you prepare yourself, you will manage also more exhausting tours. Meets 9 a.m. at the “Aktiv” assembly point, returning at around 4 p.m. Please bring along complete ski-touring gear including transponder, shovel and a probe. A maximum of 8 participants.
Ice-climbing specialist and state-certified mountain guide Sepp Inhöger will guide you up a frozen waterfall in Grossarl or Hüttschlag. Ice climbing is easy, meaning that practically anyone can give it a try without any prior experience.
Meets 9 a.m. the “Aktiv” assembly point, returning at around 12 p.m with the hiking taxi. Ice-climbing gear is required. A maximum of 6 participants.
Guide is only speaking German! This intermediate snowshoe hike takes place in Ellmautal. Together with a state-certified guide, you will trudge through winter countryside blanketed deep in snow.
Meets 9 a.m. at the “Aktiv” assembly point. You will return at about 3 p.m. Please bring snowshoes, telescopic poles, avalanche transponder, shovel and a probe. A maximum of 12 participants, tour only in German.
This intermediate ski tour takes you up the Kieserl/Fulseck in Grossarl. Here you have the possibility to ski down on the slopes. Meets 9 a.m. at the “Aktiv” assembly point, returning at around 3 p.m. Please bring complete ski-touring equipment incl. transponder, shovel and a probe. A maximum of 8 participants.
Guide is only speaking German! This guided, intermediate snowshoe hike on Friday takes you to the Hirschgrubenalm. You will meet up at 9 a.m. at the “Aktiv” assembly point, returning at around 3 p.m. Please bring snowshoes, telescopic poles, avalanche transponder, shovel and a probe. A maximum of 8 participants, tour only in German.
Ski tours, snowshoe hikes, "fitness" hike and ice climbing expeditions are all led by well-trained, expert and certified touring guides as well as state-certified mountain guides. We offer a “performance guarantee”, which means the tours will take place even with just 1 participant. The tours take place in (almost) all weather conditions.
The number of participants is limited, guaranteeing a high degree of quality and safety. For guests of “BERG-GESUND” partner businesses, these tours are free of charge (except for transfers, equipment rental, refreshments). All other guests are welcome to participate in the tours, of course. They will pay a participation fee of € 30.00 to € 50.00. You can go ahead and book all of your equipment online, which will provided to you for a corresponding rental charge. Out of consideration for fellow participants on snowshoe hikes and ski tours, dogs are not permitted. You will ride public transportation to the start of tours.
