Hüttschlag: Karkogel, 2,087 m

A beautiful ski tour to the Karkogel, which offers a wonderful view from the summit of Platten-, Mandl-, and Keeskogel and the associated, stunning ski touring area. The descent requires careful route choice and good skiing skills. Do not ski off the forest road from Hirschgrubenalm hut towards the north,

The starting point for the route is the parking lot Aschaustüberl (avalanche beacon checkpoint at the bridge), 1,027 m. It can be reached from St. Johann Pongau via the Großarler Landesstraße (L109) to Hüttschlag, then about 4 km further to Aschaustüberl (meeting place for ski tourers!).
