Family Lift Hikes
The Grossarl lifts are dedicated to being family-friendly. In recent years, numerous hiking paths have been created for the whole family.
A “pram path” leads from the mountain terminal of the Panorama Lift to “Spiegelsee” (due to important revision works in summer 2019 it is not filled with water). This hike was designed to be flat, allowing families to stroll effortlessly past the Kreuzkogel on the way to Mirror Lake. There, you will find a wobbly bridge and a barefoot path – the water truly has a magical effect on kids, and is also a welcome source of refreshment for adults as well.
Out on the Gamssteig Tour, you can hike with your family in the footsteps of hunters. During your hike you will discover nature and even, with a bit of luck, deer and chamois. The starting point for the hike is the so-called “Gamsjaga-Platzl” on the plateau. Here, if you look through your binoculars, you will be able to gaze out on one of the nearby mountains, while the chances are also pretty high that you will catch sight of a few wild creatures – after all, the Aigenalmen area boasts one of the largest populations of wild animals in all of Grossarltal. Along the Gamssteig, you will learn all about hunting in our Valley of Mountain Huts. Ultimately, the Gamssteig brings you to the two Aigenalmen huts. During this family hike, you can collect stamps and, if you stamp them in your stamp passbook, you will receive your very own Chamois Hunter’s Diploma. Though this certificate does not allow you to hunt for chamois, it does prove your ability to negotiate our mountain trails.
A pram hike (the “Kinderwagen Gipfelsieg”) is an easy walk to the top of the Kreuzkogel, offering a summiteering experience for the whole family to enjoy. Also a possibility: the Roslehenalm Tour – a pram-friendly path from the mountain station of the Panorama Lift to the mid-station.
The "Sense Path" from the Gehwolfalm is builet on the five elemens wood, fire, earth, metal and water. The way begins after a 5 minute walk from the Gehwolfalm in a beautiful landscape and crosses appr. 500 year old trees.
Playgrounds with go-karts located at some mountain huts close to the lift are a major attraction for the kids, turning your “lift hike” into a hit for the whole family.
