Family Trekking

Hiking from hut to hut with the whole family

“Family Trekking” gives you the opportunity to hike from hut to hut with your whole family. It’s not difficult. In fact, quite the opposite. With walking times that range from 2 to 5 hours, children ages 4 and up can handle this hike easily.

That said, it does require a bit of willingness from mom and dad to try something out of the ordinary. They also need to be aware that, when you spend the night at a mountain hut, you often have to do without a lot of the modern comforts. Once you have made a few careful preparations, nothing more stands in the way of this 3-day hike including 2 nights at mountain huts.

Paradise amongst Alpine Pastures

Draugsteinalmen

Surrounding our mountain huts, children discover their own piece of paradise: meadows, springs, small forests and all kinds of animals, including pigs, cows and sheep, along with horses and goats.

The hiking stages are child-friendly, leaving plenty of time to collect berries and mushrooms, build huts out of branches, as well as to play, rest, look and listen. A world where you hear the whistle of marmots, babbling streams, and see eagles circling overhead. Perhaps you might even come across a deer or a chamois.

What makes “Family Trekking” special?

This week-long package includes a 3-day hike. But you can take that hike whenever you want. And if there are ever any unforeseen problems, you will always be able return to the valley at any time.

  • “Family Trekking” is suitable for active families with children ages 4 and up.
  • The package consists of 5 nights in your chosen accommodation category in the valley, along with a 3-day hike incl. 2 nights with breakfast at mountain huts. It also includes transfer to the start of the hike as well as a surprise gift for all hikers.
  • Interesting routes along hiking paths that are perfectly safe, generally through meadows, forests and alongside streams.
  • The tour is not led by a hiking guide.
