The start and end point is the Hallmoosalm parking lot, 1.350 m. This can be reached from St. Johann im Pongau via the Grossarl country road (L 109) to Hüttschlag, then on to the Karteis district, where you turn left and drive up the "Güterweg Seilsitzberg" road.
