Harbachalm elev. 1,612 m (1 1/2 h walk)
Harbachalm
The Harbachalm lies at 1,612 m above sea level in the area of the Tofernalm. Hikers can reach this mountain hut in around 1 ½ hrs. by taking the forestry lane or shortcuts through the forest. The Harbachalm is also a popular destination for mountain bikers, and lies on the Salzburger Almenweg hiking tour through the Pongau region of Salzburg.

This hut is actually the only still-existing miners’ hut dating back to the 17th cent. Copper used to be mined in the area of the Tofernalm and the Reitalm.

Hikers are rewarded with hearty snacks and homemade products. Highly recommended: their apple bread, a delicious version of traditional fruit bread.

The area of the Harbach- and Tofernalm is particularly famous for its wealth of yellow and spotted gentian, whose roots are especially beneficial in the treatment of stomach and intestinal complaints, and which are strictly protected plant species.
