Gamskarkogelhütte - Bad Gasteiner Hütte elev. 2,467 m (4 h walk)
Hikers can reach this hut run by the Alpine Association in 4 to 5 h. The hut is actually one of the oldest hikers’ refuge huts in the entire Alpine region, built by order of Archduke John back in 1828.
After a hiking tour, hikers are rewarded at the summit with hot meals. The Gamskarkogelhütte also accommodates up to 18 people overnight.
The sunrises and sunsets with views of the Hohe Tauern, Tennen- and Hagengebirge mountains, the Hochkönig Massif, the Dachstein, and countless other alpine peaks, are absolutely breathtaking.
