Aigenalm-Mandlhütte elev. 1,342 m (1 1/4 h walk)
The Aigenalm-Mandlhütte lies at 1,342 m nestled beautifully in the upper Aigenalmtal valley. Hikers can reach this hut in about 1 ¼ h. At the Aigenalm-Paulhütte, you still can’t see the Mandlhütte, though the added 10 – 15 min. climb is definitely worthwhile. All mountain bikers are also welcome at the Aigenalm-Mandlhütte. Once you are up there, you will be treated to delicious home-produced foods including cheese, butter, bread and bacon.
Water has a magical appeal to children. No wonder, then, that they love to hang out close to the waterwheel and build small dams close by. In former times, the waterwheel was used to churn butter.
The area surrounding the Aigenalmen is home to more wild animals than anywhere else in Grossarltal. If you are lucky, you might catch sight of deer or even chamois.
