On Europe’s highest “grass mountain” – the Gamskarkogel – the Gamskarkogelhütte (Bad Gasteiner Hütte) at 2,467 m.

Hikers can reach this hut run by the Alpine Association in 4 to 5 h. The hut is actually one of the oldest hikers’ refuge huts in the entire Alpine region, built by order of Archduke John back in 1828
