Village of Hüttschlag
Hüttschlag (elev. 1,020 m) is a former mining community. Since 1991, it has been part of Hohe Tauern National Park. In addition, it is one of Austria’s “Mountaineering Villages”. This village of around 920 permanent residents offers some 550 guest beds and, with its picturesque valley head as well as the Talwirt National Park Info Center and the Valley Museum, is a popular excursion destination for young and old.
