Aschlreitalm elev. 1,785 m (2 h walk)
The Aschlreitalm lies at 1,785 m above sea level, in the “mountaineering village” of Hüttschlag at the entrance to Hohe Tauern National Park. You will be able to reach this beautifully situated mountain hut in about 2 hours. There, all hikers can enjoy hearty snacks featuring products from their own farm: cheese, butter, bread, bacon and, of course, a shot of home-distilled schnapps.
There are many play opportunities for children around the hut. With cows made from pinecones and a swing, time simply flies by. The Aschlreitalm lies on the way to a number of other beautiful hiking tours, including to the Modereggalm or the Hühnerkaralm.
