Karteisalm1,661 m (1 1/4 hours)
There are numerous hikes starting from the Karteisalm. You come to this hut after an approx. 1 ¼ hour ascent through the pine timber forest. Feeling invigorated after a refreshment stop at the alm, you can return back down or carry on. Two popular circular paths are available: ascent to the Karteistörl, then on to the Kreuzeck, descent to the Glettnalm and then back to Hüttschlag Karteis. Or from Karteistörl to the Tappenkar Lake (alternative ridge walk), back over the Draugsteintörl and the two Draugstein alms to Hüttschlag Karteis or descent to the Jäger Lake in Kleinarl.
