Cross-country skiing & skating in the province of Salzburg

For all those who prefer an easy round of cross-country skiing to the alpine skiing circus, or even switching to cross-country skis after a rapid downhill run, Grossarl Valley offers several opportunities from about 25 km of cross-country skiing trails.



One is the Grossarl cross-country trail from Grossarl to the Kösslerhäusl - Local Heritage Museum. Another is the Hüttschlag cross-country trail from Hüttschlag to the south and the popular “Aschaustüberl” and further to the picturesque valley end and the “Talwirt” National Park tavern with a large parking area, the “Bergwald” exhibition and the National Park Information Centre.
The cross-country trails are laid down in the classic style and most have a parallel skating track.

You will not only learn the right basic technique, but you will also have the opportunity to perfect your ability. Three-day skiing courses are recommended with two lessons per day.
