For e-bikers there are about 140 km of signposted biketracks in Grossarltal. These are 16 tours of varying difficulty and with a difference in altitude from 300 to 1,000 meters per tour. A total of approx. 13,000 meters of altitude are waiting for you.
New since summer 2015: Quality E-bike rentals in cooperation with KALOVEO. One thing we need to clarify in advance: An E-bike isn’t a motorbike! It’s a bicycle, and nothing happens (unfortunately) if you don’t pedal. E-bikes don’t substitute for the power produced by pedaling, but they do supplement it: by as much as 100%. That is also one reason you don’t need a driving license for an E-bike.
The bike, also known as a “Pedelec” (Pedal Electric Cycle), recognizes when things get more strenuous, kicking in some extra help from the on-board battery. Which means, even cyclists who aren’t in amazing shape can easily tackle hills as well as extended tours. Older people, families and groups of different ability levels also appreciate the “magic” of electric bikes.
The battery used with E-bike models available in Grossarltal provides a range of 40 to 80 km and up to 900 vertical meters, independent of terrain or how much effort the biker contributes. Which makes tours to the valley head, and even to certain mountain huts, easier than you ever imagined. On longer tours, battery-exchange stations at Hotel Lammwirt (Ellmautal), Hotel Almrösl (Hüttschlag) and Gasthof Talwirt (valley head) provide you with fresh power whenever you need it, in the form of a new, fully charged battery. The E-bikes are rented out by Intersport Lackner, Schuh-Sport Kendlbacher Sport 2000 and diverse hotels in Grossarl.
