Fly Fishing in the province of Salzburg

Water andcatching stretches:
Area A: Grossarl Ache from Grossarl to Hüttschlag (app. 8 km)
Area B: Grossarler Ache from Hüttschlag to the end of the valley (app. 11 km), incl. Ötzlsee (app. 2 ha)

Fish stock:
Area A: brown trout and grayling
Area B: brown trout, brook trout, alp salmon - only in the Ötzlsee, rarity (!)

Fishing gear and lure:
Area A and B: fly rod with wet or dry-fly or nymphs, single and round bent hooks for each only.

Limitation:
Area A: max. 3 exemplars a day
Area B: catch&release - no possibility to take the fish with you

Minimum size: 28-33 cm and over 43 cm

Further information:
Fishing by daylight only. Boats not allowed. License non-transferable. Keeping fish in a keep net prohibited.
