On hikes and mountain tours, face to face with the impressive mountain backdrop of the Hohe Tauern you feel very close to heaven in more ways than one!
As well as a wide range of hikes, a large portion of hospitality and rustically romantic mountain huts are awaiting you here in the Grossarl Valley.

Since October 2010, the Grossarl Valley has the Austrian Hiking Cachet. It shows the competence in hiking in the Grossarl Valley!









Approx. 40 huts (the most in one part of the province of Salzburg!) cater for walkers on the 400 km of marked footpaths leading into the National Park Hohe Tauern.



Gently hike from mountain hut to hut or go on a multiple-day tour with overnight stay up in the mountain huts and experience an extraordinary sunrise at approx. 2,000 m altitude.




For "non-locals", wishing to walk as part of a group, there are 3 free guided walks per week in the Grossarl Valley, led by a National Park warden.
