Hiking from Chapel to Chapel

Make wide your heart - a tour for your body and for your soul


Besides normal hiking you can also do something for your heart and soul if you walk the Chapel Trail as walking, it is said, frees the soul. At every chapel one of the Ten Commandments has been rephrased into a good thought, to take with you on your way.
The point of origin is at the church in Grossarl. The trail takes you in direction to Hüttschlag. There you pass the Laireiting-, the Bichl-, the Figler-, the Griesbichl- (will be built in the next years again), the Neuhof- as well as the Schappach-Chapel. Then you walk to the church in Hüttschlag. Further the way takes you to the Wolfau-, Karteis-, Maurach and the Hubertus-Chapel. The last chapel is the Pertill-Chapel at the end of the valley. This chapel was built in honour of the victims of the Second World War and for gratefulness for all those who came back healthy. This chapel should activate us to say "THANK YOU" more often. The way is about 17,5 km long. Of course you can walk the "Way of Chapels" in some stages.





For every chapel there is a short text and a good wish. The text should activate us for meditating in the chapel and the good wish should go along our path (of life). Therefore you have 2 possibillities to hike on the Trail of Chapels: "The way to think and meditate", made by our priest Mag. Thomas Schwarzenberger and "The way of the 10 good wishes", made by Helga Zraunig.
