Holiday happiness for all seasons
Awards, Honors and Prizes

In recent years, Grossarltal has been privileged to receive numerous awards, honors and prizes. This is a clear sign that Grossarl and Hüttschlag are focused on offering you a high-quality holiday experience. Our goal is not only to have guests who are satisfied, but also guests who are truly excited about their time spent here.

HolidayCheck Destination Award 2012 and 2013

Grossarl was selected as the most hospitable town in Austria in 2012 and 2013. At no other place in Austria did guests in 2012 and 2013 feel more at home. Grossarl’s businesses also came out winners in the category “Family Holidays”.

BAK BASEL 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012
On behalf of the Swiss Secretariat for Business and Switzerland’s most important holiday regions, BAK BASEL regularly analyzes the performance and competitiveness of 150 destinations in Europe’s Alpine regions.

The index is based on various factors, led by bed occupancy rates in the hotel industry. This accounts for 50% of total points. Also evaluated are trends in demand (20 %) as well as the price structure (30 %). Data is evaluated for the entire year in tourism.

Grossarltal was able to win the BAK BASEL in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012, making it the most successful yea-round destination in the Alps for 4 years in succession.
Zipfer Tourism Prize 2008, 2010 and 2012

A jury of experts awarded Grossarltal the Zipfer Tourism Prize in 2008 for “Salzburg Mountain Advent”.

The same honor was accorded the “Chapel Path”, which takes you past 2 parish churches and 11 chapels. This pathway has proudly held the Zipfer Tourism Prize since 2010.

The Grossarl Lift Company and Grossarltal Tourist Office have also been honored with “Salzburg’s Most Innovative Tourism Region 2012”. The award cited “Skikeriki” in combination with the giant snow igloo, our Places of Peace, children’s parks as well as free WiFi.

T.A.I. Werbe Grand Prix 2012

The Werbe Grand Prix held by Tourist Austria International is one of the fairest and toughest competitions in the tourist industry. In order to win, you not only need to convince an expert jury, but also the general public. In 2011/2012, around 360 entries were received in 8 categories, 45 of these in the category “Destination Catalogues & Brochures, Tourist Offices”.

Our brochure “Holiday Happiness in Every Season” took home 1st place and thus the medal “Signum Laudis in Gold”.
